Over the past several months our Kearney location has become the home of the wonderful Whitney Taylor. Whitney was born in Rolla Missouri and raised on some land with horses, well water and natural springs down in Southeast MO. She is an avid nature lover and enjoys hiking and landscape photography. Whitney hopes to one day live a sustainable lifestyle on some land where she can put good intentions into the food she grows. She puts the same amount of intention into her day-to-day life and interactions with the people around her.

It is very obvious when interacting with Whitney that her biggest concern is listening to the person she is communicating with and improving the quality of their day. Before she was with KCC, Whitney had some experience in the service industry but spent most of her professional career working in the mental health field. The mental health field allowed her to use her natural traits to bring some joy and added support to people that needed it. She found a ton of fulfillment through her work but also brought home much of the burden that her patients and clients carried with them. This caused her to seek a new path that allowed her to achieve the same type of fulfillment. In 2016, Whitney rediscovered cannabis over a joint with a friend. That smoke session changed her life and opened her mind saying that she had never found that level of calmness before. From that point forward she dove into making cannabis a larger part of her lifestyle and a career. The next year she started the journey by moving to Washington in pursuit of a “greener” life. Over the next several years, Whitney lived in Washington, Oregon, and Colorado for various stints with cannabis being along for the ride, every step of the way. Though the journey was fun and, in her words, ‘worked out beautifully,’ she wasn’t able to find a job in the cannabis industry. Then, the state of Missouri changed its stance on cannabis and allowed her to pursue her passion in her home state.

Fast forward to now and Whitney has become a key member of the KCC Kearney team and has recently accepted the Assistant Manager position. When asked what she loves most about the cannabis industry and working at KCC, Whitney gave one of the best answers saying, “I’ve never quite worked anywhere that I got along with the people as much as I do here. I love being surrounded by so many like minded individuals with the same goal in mind. It’s my people.”

When asked about her go-to products, she immediately jumped to Gron gummies because of the wide variety of cannabinoid ratio options (CBD, CBN, CBG) available under their brand. As for flower, she is a big In The Flow fan because they are the only group she has met in Missouri that goes out of their way to speak about the good intentions they put into their grow.

Whitney gets the most joy from introducing others to cannabis and seeing the positive effects she can have on their lives. After seeing the amazing things that cannabis did for her and others around her, Whitney has integrated cannabis into her lifestyle entirely. The next time you’re in Kearney, swing by KCC and let Whitney introduce you to the even brighter side of cannabis.
